This Political Season, or “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”

The Tea Party is like a can of Planters Mixed Nuts.  You have all of these candidates who avoid being interviewed and even had (in one case) the Rachael Maddow show producer asked to leave the premises.

I am a Rachael Maddow Show fan (I guess that marks me as part of the Ultra-Left Fanatics.  She has proposed an open invitation to any or all of these people who are demonizing her along with Keith Olberman.  Of course none of them will take her up on the invitation.

As a thinking person, it seems to me that if you have a political agenda that you would like to promote and can back up the information with facts instead of crazed, over-zealous propaganda, one would take her up on this.  But this is not the case.

Converting to Islam

I’ve thought about all of the anti-Islam rhetoric that has been circulating on the different media outlets.  All of these people are just bigoted idiots who have no opinion of their own and are just following the ‘misguided’ thoughts of pieces of wasted human flesh such as John Boehner and Sarah Palin, etc.

It would be nice to live in a country where people actually did some research and had a memory span of more than five minutes.  It was not Islam that attacked us on 9/11/2001.  It was a misguided ‘fringe’ group who calls themselves ‘Al Queda’.  This issue of burning the Quran by the idiot in central Florida, he’s just following more misguided ideas.  This is not an original though that he just came up with one day.  Listening to the various conservative Republican spokes-channel, i.e. Fox, and people like Rush Limbaugh spewing their poisonous messages leads to things like this.

I am a Jew.  I looked into making my own political statement by converting to Islam.  But upon further research, I decided that with my upbringing, I could never be a true Muslim as I am programmed as a Jew and could never TRULY believe in the tenets of Islam, so I’ll just do my best to educate the public on the facts, as I can while remaining a Jew.

Please people!  Don’t be lemmings or lap-dogs.  Don’t believe everything you are told as gospel.  Do some research and find out the truth.

Work crap

Well, now I have five patients! I love it! Good thing is it doesn't leave me with a lot of downtime. But, that's a good thing. It makes the day fly by.
I'm also taking a class on Communications (Speech) at MDC and it's Monday - Wednesday. I'm enjoying it.
Sometimes getting assistance at work for 'semi-important' issues can be like pulling teeth. I have one student who has an 'Insulin Resistance Factor'. I tried to get more information on this, even contacted the Nurse Practitioner on the case. She had me jumping through hoops and doing math (I was using my cell) so I had to do it mentally--I haven't done that in years.
Anyway, I think I finally figured it out and tried to confirm my math with the nurse practitioner, but do you think she would even take the time to get back to me? No.
I am still waiting for the assignment of (posssibly) two more diabetics.
This will be GREAT.
I really like being busy.
Last year, all I had was one diabetic with a pump installed, so I got a lot of reading done. So, we're off to a good start.

Hurricane Earl: Evacuation ordered for N.C. island - Weather - msnbc.com

ah, Hurricanes!  We haven’t had one here since 2005.  First of all Katrina began off the coast near Fort Lauderdale, then the eye passed right over my house.  Winds were at about 85 to 90 mph.

Later, we got Wilma.  We really had no damage from either, but Wilma was inconvenient as we were without power for about two weeks.

School Has Started Again

I work for a company that subcontracts to Miami-Dade County Schools.  We take care of students with “Special needs”.  So far, I have four patients (all type I diabetics).  It looks like I might be getting three or four more patients within the next few weeks.  I love my work!

Barack Obama will wake up on November 5th as President Elect

Due to John McCain's continued mismanagement and inability to stay on message, he has appeared to the country just as he is: an angry, out of tough, old man. Watching him in the second debate was like watching a train wreck.
Sarah Palin continues to be a drag on the ticket as more and more people realize how unprepared she would be to become president if McCain were to meet an untimely death, if elected.
Barack Obama is on the side of the common man. He came from the same place as a lot of us and knows what it is like to live as a middle class American. He's also had to live with "not fitting in" much of his life. Barack Obama is the man that we can trust to lead the country for the next 8 years.
